bashobits

bashobits is an artist working across mixed media and generative systems, with an interest in the intersection of movement and mindfulness. The work takes its name and its bearings from the poetic wanderlust of Matsuo Bashō, and follows the aesthetic tradition of wabi-sabi. Across the series Seasons of Mobility, Freedom of Mobility and Ghosts of Mobility, bashobits treats autonomous vehicles as a species called Mobility, set in the year 1010 AH, After Humanity. In October 2025 bashobits took part in a Sovrn Art pop-up event in Marfa, Texas. Admiral Rush, from Seasons of Mobility, entered the collection of the Francisco Carolinum Linz in January 2026.
