DeeKay Kwon is a South Korean digital artist based in San Francisco, working with looping animations inspired by retro video games such as Super Mario. Born in 1989, he spent a decade as a motion designer at Apple and Google before announcing in 2021 that he would make art full-time. His guiding philosophy is "Art is for everyone." In April 2022 his work Life and Death sold for $1,000,000 to the collector Cozomo de' Medici, a record for his work, and the two later collaborated on the open edition New Era ETH. In 2024 a work by DeeKay was the only digital piece in Christie's post-war and contemporary art day sale in Hong Kong, and he took part in the group exhibition BusanMoCA Platform at the Busan Museum of Contemporary Art. He showed animations in Art Basel Hong Kong's Zero 10 digital art sector in 2026.
