Grant Yun

Grant Yun is an American-Korean digital artist based in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Born in 1996, Yun works mainly in Adobe Illustrator, making vector illustrations of everyday American scenes in a style Yun calls "vectorized realism." Yun is self-taught, having begun illustrating with the shapes tool in Microsoft PowerPoint, and completed medical training alongside the art practice. Compositions are built from thousands of personal photographs taken across the United States, and include the series California and Midwest, the latter made so that hospital patients in Wisconsin could recognise their surroundings. In 2023 Yun was one of fifteen artists selected to launch MoMA Postcard. A first solo exhibition, "Growing Up," opened at Soft Corner Gallery in Seoul in 2024, dealing with Korean-American identity, distance and memory. "SPACES" followed at Fellowship in London in 2025, the same year Yun made new work on an original 1980s Quantel Paintbox for "Paintboxed" at Digital Art Mile in Basel.
