Hannes Hummel
Hannes Hummel, born in 1987, is a German interdisciplinary artist and designer working across CGI, AI, web3, immersive audio-visual installations and moving images. He has a background in Integrated Design and co-founded BLOOM, a collective exploring web3 and fine art. Much of his work concerns digital flora. The Artificial Florilegia project, begun in 2021, includes Living Still Lifes, which reimagines Flemish still-life oil paintings as digital flower arrangements. In October 2023 the Deji Art Museum in Nanjing commissioned Hummel to create an animated still life for its permanent collection. He released Hybrid Species, his first series made with AI tools, in 2024, and in December 2025 took part as one of 25 guest artists in Jenni Pasanen's Advent Collaboration. His work has also been shown at the Beijing Contemporary Art Expo and at Contemporary Calgary.
