Mike Karolos

Mike Karolos, who also works as Smirap Designs, is a graphic designer and illustrator based in Athens. He was born in Manchester, England, in 1984 and has lived his whole life in Greece. He came to design through graffiti and studied graphic design at Middlesex University, then worked at the Athens studios Creative Printshop and in8 creative design before establishing himself as a freelance illustrator. His work covers branding, packaging and logo design. Since 2016 he has been making Destination: Greece, a stamp collection depicting Greek islands, ancient landmarks, beaches and traditional food. His illustrations for the travel magazine Greece Is, distributed with the Kathimerini newspaper and the international edition of the New York Times, were shortlisted for the World Illustration Awards.
