Reuben Wu
Reuben Wu is a British photographer, visual artist and musician based in Chicago. Born in Liverpool in 1975 to parents who had immigrated from Hong Kong, he studied Industrial Design at university and was immersed in Sheffield's music scene before forming the band Ladytron in 1999, of which he is a founding member. He began photographing the band's travels as a casual tour diary and committed to photography as a profession when Ladytron went on hiatus, taking his first dedicated photography trip to Svalbard in 2011. Wu is known for Lux Noctis, in which he uses drone-mounted lights to illuminate remote landscapes, and for Aeroglyphs. National Geographic commissioned him to photograph Stonehenge in 2020. He was included in nftnow.com's NFT100 list in 2023, and his work is in the collections of the Guggenheim Museum, The Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Museum of Modern Art.
