ROBNESS
ROBNESS is a California-based digital artist. He traces his interest in visual and audio aesthetics to age twelve, when he bought the Velvet Underground & Nico album for its Andy Warhol cover art. He began minting work on Bitcoin's Counterparty protocol in 2016 and was an original contributor to the Rare Pepe card collection, moving to SuperRare, KnownOrigin and OpenSea in 2019. In 2020 he tokenized 64 GALLON TOTER, a GIF of a trash bin taken from the Home Depot website. Its removal from SuperRare, and his subsequent ban and reinstatement that year, launched the #trashart movement, which he helped originate alongside artists including Eric P. Rhodes and Max Osiris. Two of his works were included in NFT: Poetics of the Immaterial at the Centre Pompidou in 2023. He is a central figure in Hervé Martin-Delpierre's documentary What the Punk!, which premiered in 2024.
