UNKTUKNO

UNKTUKNO is an artist from Brașov, Romania, who lives and works in Porto, Portugal. She is self-taught and works in abstraction, creative coding and AI, describing her practice as "sculpting darkness with digital light" and calling herself a "digital weaver." Her work draws on the symbols and patterns of Romanian traditional textiles. Before turning to digital work, she studied contemporary dance and worked as a performer and teacher, specialising in conceiving, choreographing and producing interactive multimedia dance performances. Her series include Insight Brâncuși and Discoidal Objects, both from 2023, followed by Seeds and Gibberish in 2024. She presents her work on Foundation, objkt.com and KnownOrigin.
