Catagram #10

From ancient greec katá + grámma. Writing from the top down. Also degenerative writing. Ink on paper, pix on screen. Physical mark, digital gesture. The physical Catagrams (ink on paper) are an attempt to find the adequate gesture of a mark that could or would be a scripture, a writing, a calligraphy, for a contemplative deciphering. The digital Catagrams are the continuation of the gesture: the first nine pieces were turned into blinking glyphs to create a new hallucinated and magnetic reading of each work; the tenth, through digital manipulation, elaborates a sort of convoluted "boustrophedon" layout to question its own verisimilitude. Catagram #10 originates in three ink drawings on paper made in June 2022. This work is minted on the occasion of the #tezosartweek event (13 - 19 June 2022).
